Join evlyne Laurin for a visit of the exhibition *Mémoire matérielle*, a curatorial project presented in the Pavilion at Plural. Explore the exhibited works as well as the artists behind them, while learning more about the creative process of the curator and how she shaped this exhibition. This artistic showcase brings together over twenty artists and a variety of three-dimensional works, highlighting the different materials and styles of contemporary sculptural practice in Quebec and Canada.

The visit will be conducted in French, but the mediator will answer questions in both languages.

Mémoire Matérielle: Deep Dive in the Curatorial Framework

Identity is constantly in flux, multifaceted. It is shaped by displacement and migration, both deconstructing and celebrating place, territory and home. Many artists choose to document this plurality, elevating art as refuge, anchorage, resistance and empowerment. The PHI Foundation for Contemporary Art, in partnership with AGAC, presents a conversation in which artists discuss projects that have emerged from their diasporic experiences.

Time Eternal: A Tour Through 10 Artists’ Treatment of Time

Western art history teaches us that textiles, embroidery, ceramics and jewelry are associated with leisure and hobbies, crafts and women's art. In an assertive feminist gesture, many contemporary artists have deliberately reinvested these skills and materials to encourage a re-evaluation of past productions and foster a more inclusive approach to art. However, this narrative overlooks a number of artists whose work draws on other sources. What are their legacies? What drives them today?

Join Raja Hanna, who is passionate about the art world, to see the fair through the eyes of a collector. His collection brings together several contemporary Canadian and international works created in a variety of techniques and mediums. We find artists such as Claude Tousignant, Wanda Koop, Cindy Sherman, ManRay, Caroline Monnet, Diego Rivera, Janet Werner, Nicolas Grenier and Kent Monkman. He collects according to current interests and preferences, so the collection of more than 150 works will change over the years.
