Pierre-François Ouellette art contemporain (PFOAC) is a private gallery dedicated to the presentation of contemporary art founded in 2001. PFOAC represents multidisciplinary artists working with a variety of techniques. Despite the conceptual, formal and aesthetic differences that distinguish their respective productions, some common threads associate their various approaches with the idea (and act) of making art. Some use their art to challenge traditional modes of representation such as landscape, portrait and still life. Others are more interested in exploring social or cultural phenomena. While some of the gallery's artists draw attention to the signs and symbols that define our surrounding world, others evoke those ephemeral or intangible aspects of life that are usually difficult to define. Pierre-François Ouellette art contemporain is dedicated to presenting works that demonstrate a critical commitment to contemporary art in all its forms and complexity.
