TrépanierBaer Gallery is a leading Canadian commercial contemporary art gallery. Founded by Yves Trépanier and Kevin Baer in 1991, the gallery specializes in high quality contemporary Canadian and international art. Celebrating their 35th anniversary, TrépanierBaer enjoys a distinguished history. With well-established relationships across the country and internationally, the gallery continues to innovate, respond to change, and develop its role as a contributor to the health of Canadian cultural life.
TrépanierBaer supports senior and mid-career artists including to name a few, Vikky Alexander, James Carl, Chris Cran, Christian Eckart, DaveandJenn, Alicia Henry, Chris Millar, Luanne Martineau, Kent Monkman and Carol Wainio. They present the work of promising emerging artists, an active program that helped launch the careers of several young artists. As well, the gallery advances research and showcases the work of historical modern artists particularly, Marcel Barbeau, Oscar Cahén, and Marion Nicoll.
Located centrally in the energetic Beltline district of Calgary, the gallery space designed by Calgary designer Harold Crittenden and Swiss architect Urs Kick provides 3000 square feet of accessible exhibition space with a main gallery, viewing room and window cases.
The gallery shares the visionary work of Canadian and international contemporary artists with a wide audience through exhibitions that are often critically acclaimed and special events in the gallery; participation in international art fairs and festivals; and publications. The informative website includes documentation of exhibitions, artist portfolios, videos, interviews, and news.
The gallery is well positioned to assist individuals, collectors, corporations, and institutions to develop and manage collections including providing appraisal services.
Through its sister company Art to Public, the gallery provides consulting services in public art and has managed major public art projects and commissions for private collectors, corporations, and civic entities.
